"The ACM DIgital Library has got full text of many Association for Computing Machinery publications. Non-members and the general public can access ONLY the search/browse options on the main DL page. For Basic Search: On the Digital Library main page, type your word or phrase into the text box. The search engine will search on each word individually as well as on the whole phrase. Put quotations (" ") around the phrase to search the exact phrase. For Browse the DL: by type of ACM publication: journals, magazines, transactions, special interest group (SIG) newsletters, proceedings, and publications by affiliated organizations."

"The British Library Public Catalogue provides access to the main British Library catalogues, describing over ten million items available either in our Reading Rooms or for remote supply as photocopies or loans. BLPC is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. BLPC is available through a browser, using either a frames-based graphical interface or a simple text-based interface. The graphical interface also offers an order facility for ordering loans and photocopies of material held by the British Library Document Supply Centre. Access: Freely available search for Standard Number and Title. Registration required for summaries and ordering hardcopy documents online. Institutional subscription required for unlimited online access to standards in PDF format - there are 55 optional modules to subscribe to in the British Standards so access will depend on your institution.

"ClinicalTrials.gov offers up-to-date information for locating federally and privately supported clinical trials for a wide range of diseases and conditions. A clinical trial (also clinical research) is a research study in human volunteers to answer specific health questions. Interventional trials determine whether experimental treatments or new ways of using known therapies are safe and effective under controlled environments. Observational trials address health issues in large groups of people of populations in natural settings. ClinicalTrials.gov currently contains approximately 9,300 clinical studies sponsored by the National Institutes of Health, other federal agencies, and private industry. Studies listed in the database are conducted primarily in the United States and Canada, but include locations in about 90 countries. ClinicalTrials.gov receives over 2.5 million page views per month and hosts approximately 13,000 visitors daily."

"The Resource Discovery Network (RDN) is a collaboration of over seventy educational and research organisations, including the Natural History Museum and the British Library. In contrast to search engines, the RDN gathers resources which are carefully selected, indexed and described by specialists in the partner institutions. One can be confident that her/his search results and browsing will be connected to Web sites relevant to learning, teaching and research. The RDN builds upon the foundations of the subject gateway activity carried out under the JISC's (Joint Information Systems Committee in UK) eLibProgramme. The RDN is a co-operative network consisting of a central organisation, the Resource Discovery Network Centre (RDNC) and a number of independent service providers called hubs.
